The Massachusetts Council of Military Organizations, Inc. (Mass COMO) is a corporation made up of military and uniformed services organizations representing active duty, Guard/reserve, and retired uniformed services members and their families and survivors within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The purpose of the Council is to represent the entire uniformed services community by working through the various member organizations to harness the grassroots support of Massachusetts service members to educate the general public on the extraordinary demands and sacrifices made by uniformed services members and their families and to protect their rights and interests at the federal, state and local levels.

Mass COMO is a non-partisan organization that focuses on issues that effect the men and women of the seven uniformed services of the United States and their families and survivors. Although we are political in nature, we do NOT support political parties or candidates. We represent all areas of the political arena . . . liberal, moderate, conservative, Republican, Democrat, independent and non-partisan. Our primary mission is to lobby on behalf of the uniformed services community and to work with legislators at all levels of government in an effort to protect the rights and benefits that uniformed services members have earned through their years of service to the nation.

Support Our Troops Programs

Many people who would like to do more to support our troops but are not sure how or have no idea which support programs are legitimate and which ones are not.

There are, however, several very good private-public partnerships that specialize in supporting America's military and their families in their time of need. To learn more about these programs, go to: Support Our Troops.

Mass COMO 2008/2009 Meeting Schedule

The Council's  25th year of service to the Massachusetts uniformed services community began on Saturday, September 20th, 2008. As in past years, 2008/2009 also has several major challenges for service-members and their families to deal with. Increased DoD assaults of military compensation and benefits, potential base closures, inadequate active duty end-strength, over reliance on the National Guard/Reserve forces, decreasing quality of life for military members and their families, and unfair survivor benefits will all be major topics of discussion.

Regular meetings are held on the third Saturday of most months at Hanscom AFB. This year's schedule includes meetings on the following dates:

September 20, 2008          January 17, 2009

May 16, 2009

Retiree Activities Day - Hanscom AFB -  Time/Date TBD

September 19, 2009 (Annual Meeting)
