Mass COMO is a non-partisan organization that focuses on issues that affect the men and women of the seven uniformed services of the United States and their families and survivors. Although we are political in nature, we do NOT support or endorse political parties or candidates. We represent all areas of the political area . . . liberal, moderate, conservative, Republican, Democrat, independent, and non-partisan. Our primary mission is to lobby on behalf of the uniformed services community and to work with legislators at all levels of government in an effort to protect the rights and benefits that servicemembers have earned through their years of service

Previous Council Meetings

The Council's last meeting was held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. For complete details go to COMO Meetings.

Mass COMO 2008/2009 Schedule of Events

The Council's 25th year of service to the Massachusetts uniformed services community began on Saturday, September 20th, 2008. As in past years, 2008/2009 also has several major challenges for service members and their families to deal with. Increased DoD assaults on military compensation and benefits, potential base closures, inadequate active duty end-strength, increased reliance on Guard/Reserve units, decreasing quality of life for military members and their families, sub-standard care of wounded warriors, and unfair survivor benefits are all major issues that must be addressed by the 111th Congress and the new administration.

Representatives from all of the various military organizations throughout the state are encouraged to attend MCOMO meetings which are held on the third Saturday of most months at Hanscom AFB. This year's schedule includes meetings/events on the following dates:

September 20, 2008          March 21, 2009          September 19, 2009

Retiree Activities Day (Hanscom AFB) - April 25, 2009

Support Our Troops Programs

Many people who would like to do more to support our troops but are not sure how or have no idea which support programs are legitimate and which ones are not.

There are, however, several excellent private-public partnerships that specialize in supporting America's military and their families in their time of need. To learn more about these programs, go to Support Our Troops.
